A Mother’s Day Tea Party Fit For A Queen

The clink of tea cups and polite murmurs filled the headquarters of New Community on a recent afternoon as ladies from NCC senior buildings in Newark, Orange and Jersey City gathered for a lavish tea party at St. Joseph Plaza. Dressed in elegant attire and sporting elaborate hats, seniors were treated by NCC’s Health and Social Services Department to a celebration for Mother’s Day. The fancy affair was designed to metaphorically “refill” the cups of those who needed refreshment, said Director of Mission Frances Teabout, who delivered remarks during the program. Special thanks go to Guardy’s Pharmacy in Newark and pharmacist Paul Hsu for donating the food and refreshments for the tea party.
