Youth Services include:

NCC summer camp offers an array of educational and enrichment activities for youth ages 5 to 13.  Campers receive breakfast, lunch and a snack and multi-site program activities such as computer classes, swimming, field trips and more.

Family Friendly Center at Thirteenth Avenue/MLK School

The Family Friendly Center provides a comprehensive after school program to address the developmental needs of youth and the social service needs of their families. Students are given an opportunity to develop their talents and discover new interests, to advance academically and to explore life-enriching possibilities.

Saturday Fun Club

Saturday Fun Club engages children ages 5 to 12 in stimulating and age appropriate recreational activities while providing a safe and nurturing environment during alternate Saturdays.

NCC Summer Teen Enrichment Program

This summer program is geared toward high school students and provides job experience, academic enrichment and field trips to colleges and universities.

Project V.I.P.

Project V.I.P. is NCC’s youth service learning initiative that provides students with the opportunity to apply their own skills and interests to meeting the needs of residents through weekly community service.

Young Men’s Leadership Program

YMLP is designed to promote responsibility, respect and resourcefulness for young males of high school age through adult leadership and commitment.

New Community After School Program for New Horizons Community Charter School

The NCC after school program’s focus is to develop activities that will promote growth mentally, physically and socially. Activities are planned based upon student age, grade level and interests. All students have a portion of their time devoted to homework assignments. Enrichment activities such as STEAM, arts and crafts, sports and fitness and cooking are provided to program participants.

Positive Zone

A program that includes numerous activities during open gym time for youth ages 7 to 18 who enjoy sports and interacting with other youth. Participants have the opportunity to take part in a variety activities and also learn valuable skills such as teamwork, leadership and effective communication with their peers.

Teen Enrichment Network (T.E.N.)

The Teen Enrichment Network program is designed for high school students and offers a combination of learning integrated with employment experience for its participants. Its goal is to promote positive behavior, develop career awareness, increase job skills and foster career goals for inner city high school students. The program provides all participants with hands-on job experiences, SAT prep, mentoring, computer skills, group activities, field trips and support services.

Father Daughter Dance

This event is for girls ages 4 to 17 and their fathers or significant male role model. The dance focuses on the importance of fathers and daughters having healthy and strong relationships.
