Weather forecasters say that spring enters either like a lion or lamb. Here at New Community, spring arrives with a big party that’s worthy of donning your best outfit and showing off your dance moves.

New Community recently celebrated its annual Spring Festival and Auction, which was a memorable night filled with exciting prizes, spirited dancing and camaraderie among NCC staff, residents and friends. The event benefited the Monsignor William J. Linder Scholarship Fund, which financially supports local youth to attend top-tier preparatory schools and launches their academic careers towards college and a successful future.

Scholarship recipient Monique Iluonokhalumhe, a graduate of St. Vincent Academy in Newark, put it best when she urged festival attendees to continue supporting the fund “because it is creating paths for our future doctors, lawyers, engineers and many others. In the near future, I will become a pediatric surgeon because of your generosity,” said Iluonokhalumhe, currently a freshman chemistry major at Montclair State University.
